The high flights of the athletes of the competitive swimming section of the NEP continued today on the 2nd day of the “30th Alexandria” games.
The first and greatest success was the achievement of a new Panhellenic record in the 100m. Butterfly 1st Pampaion by Kouri Fanis with 57:81! It is about the breaking of a record that held for 15 years (2008) and was achieved by Andreas Vazaios with 57:83!
But this was not the only success of the NEP. Scouta Apostolia (Neanida II) won 2 medals! Gold in the 100m. Women’s butterfly with a time of 01:02.30 and bronze at 50m. free with 27:47. We also had 2nd place in her age category (and 4th overall) from Katsantoni Marianna (Girl B) in the 100m. Women’s breaststroke with a time of 01:17.97, 4th place from Giannakopoulou Tenia (Girls) in the 100m. Women’s butterfly with 01:04.05 and 3rd place in his age category by George Papadimitriou (Pampaidas II) in the 200m. free with a time of 02:25.21. We also had at 50m. freestyle 24:58 and in the 200m. freestyle 01:58.78 by Konstantopoulos Andronikos (Neos Andras) and in the same event 02:17.06 by Karakasis Angelos (Pampaidas A’).
As stated in the NEP announcement: Many congratulations to Fanis Kouris for his tremendous performance and the achievement of the Panhellenic record, to the rest of the children for their successes and of course to their coach Lina Mastropasquas for all that she offers them! The matches continue and conclude tomorrow 3/12.
