NEOS Vienna/Konrad: The decision to start an apprenticeship should never just be a plan B!

For NEOS, May 1st is “Apprenticeship Day” this year and they emphasize and present measures to upgrade the apprenticeship profession.

Vienna (OTS) “The shortage of apprentices and the associated shortage of skilled workers is not only an Austria-wide problem, Vienna as a business location also suffers from it. To counteract this, we offer special support programs for entrepreneurs in Vienna that make taking on apprentices more attractive,” says NEOS Vienna Social spokesman Jörg Konrad and refers, among other things, to the support of companies that take on an apprentice for the first time, or the targeted promotion of apprenticeship training companies in the Viennese tourism and leisure industry. In addition to funding for companies, there is also targeted support for apprentices themselves.

“Young people who are currently in an apprenticeship and were unable to attend various courses due to the pandemic can catch up on them and will be supported with up to 3,000 euros. In addition, the costs for attending preparatory courses for the final apprenticeship exam will be covered in full In order to be able to continue to counteract the shortage of apprentices, further measures are required on the part of the federal government, such as the modernization of the training regulations and the abolition of bureaucratic hurdles,” Konrad concludes.

With a day of action on May 1st, NEOS want to focus even more on the subject of apprentices and will provide information from 10:30 a.m. in front of the Votive Church on all funding opportunities for Viennese entrepreneurs and apprentices, including the planned apprenticeship training bonus for Viennese apprenticeship companies that will take on future apprentices into a climate-related apprenticeship. These companies receive a one-year financing of the apprenticeship wages.
