Neos Salzburg: Club chairman changes to VP

In the case of the Neos, the preparation of the list of candidates led to a dispute that has now resulted in a change of club. The chemistry between Neos club chairman Josef Egger and party leader Andrea Klambauer has been around for a long time no longer voted. Egger finally announced that he was no longer available and that he did not want to take part in the preparations for the election. When he then considered running for re-election, a dispute broke out. Egger was voted out as club boss on Monday. He reacted by withdrawing from the party and club.

The Neos only have two members of the Salzburg state parliament and lose their club status. That means fewer opportunities and fewer resources. On Wednesday, Egger announced that he will join the VP club. The VP and the Greens now have a majority and no longer need the third government partner, Neos, for decisions. Klambauer emphasized that the coalition was “stable and upright”.
