Neo-Nazis arrested in Baltimore for attacking power grid

Ammunition found with the suspects

NOS News

Two neo-Nazis have been arrested in the American city of Baltimore for attacking the city’s power grid. The FBI says they had a racial motive. More than half of Baltimore’s residents are black.

The two suspects were arrested last week. One of them is Brandon Russell, founder and former leader of the international neo-Nazi group The Atomwaffen Division. The other suspect is his girlfriend, who has been photographed wearing military gear with a swastika and holding a weapon.

The two suspects would have wanted to shoot at five electricity stations “with the aim of destroying the entire city”. The suspects took steps to pursue “extremist targets,” the FBI says.

No damage has been reported at the power stations they targeted. In recent months, several power stations have been attacked in the US, including in the states of South Carolina and Washington. This left thousands of households without power. It is unclear what the motive was then.
