Nelly Karim and Rania Youssef shine at Aswan International Film Festival for Women

Today, Monday, in the city of Aswan, the fourth edition of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women, whose activities have continued until February 15th, was launched, in the presence of a group of female artists and movie and theater stars inside Egypt as well as outside it from international stars of art who are keen to attend the activities of this festival, In the presence of Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, and Ambassador Mervat Al-Talawi, former head of the National Council for Women, he will participate in the festival this year from outside Egypt, Spanish star Victoria April, guest of honor of the festival.

The most prominent stars were Nelly Karim, Rajaa Al-Jeddawi, Rania Youssef, Najlaa Badr, Dalia Mustafa, Nahed El Sebaei, and the producer, Nahid Farid Shawky.

The festival administration chose the jury for the short films competition, which includes: Egyptian star Bushra and Swedish critic Ronit Hassoun, director and Nigerian producer, Mildred Okua, and the festival honors at the closing ceremony on February 15, producer Nahid Farid Shawky, and Editor Rahma Montaser, and Montera Negat Leila El-Sayes.

31 films from 29 countries compete for the festival’s competitions during the festival this year. The competitions include two first world premiere films, as well as 18 first premiere films in Africa. The administration of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women was chosen by the director Hisham Saqr’s film “Accessibility”. The opening of the fourth session of the festival.

The European Union chose the Aswan International Film Festival for Women to award a prize for the best film from the European Union and Mediterranean countries, which deals with women’s issues and their participation in society.

It is noteworthy that the three previous sessions of the Women’s Film Festival were held on the land of Aswan, a country of magic and beauty, with the fourth edition of the festival to be launched from February 10 to 15.

The General Authority of Cultural Palaces has hosted, through the Aswan Culture Branch, the workshops of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women for its fourth session, which was held from February 1 to 20 under the slogan “Cinematic Voices from the South” and “Film Industry Workshop” by director Nadine Salib, It is a workshop that aims to educate and train participants from the age of 18 to 40 on film making.
