Donny van de Beek would do well to move to Celtic on a rental basis. At least, that is what Neil Lennon, former manager of the Scottish top club, says. The Northern Irishman thinks that Van de Beek’s career at Celtic Park can get a boost again.

In The Go Radio Football Show Lennon concludes that Van de Beek has been sidelined at Manchester United. “He was great in Ajax’s Champions League season. Van de Beek was a solid pawn in that young team that reached the semi-finals,” said the 52-year-old manager, who is clubless after his resignation from Omonia Nicosia.
“He went to United, but it didn’t work there. Even when he was loaned to Everton, it wasn’t a success,” said Lennon, who advises Van de Beek. “He needs a kickstart. I think Celtic could provide it to him. His arrival would be impressive.”
Lennon is convinced that Van de Beek fits Celtic. “You don’t lose quality. Sometimes it’s down to your self-confidence, then you lose that a bit. Players of this caliber just need a fresh start. Celtic is the right place for that.” The manager realizes that the Scots do not have the financial means to buy the Dutchman. “If you are realistic, you are talking about a rental period at Van de Beek. Only then will you have a great player for a year.”
