Neighbor saves 78-year-old from con artists in Offenbach

Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – A neighbor saved an elderly woman in Offenbach from becoming a victim of con artists. The 78-year-old had been repeatedly called by the scammers for several days. They had asked them to get their money from the bank to be on the safe side, as there had been frequent burglaries. She told her neighbor about it.

When she wanted to take a taxi to the bank on Monday morning, the neighbor called the police. Officials stopped the taxi ride. The woman reportedly wanted to withdraw 5,000 euros from her account.
