A 54-year-old woman is said to have infected her cancer-stricken neighbor with Covid-19 in 2021. Next Thursday, September 12, 2024, she will have to answer once again before the regional court for grossly negligent homicide.

The Carinthian woman is appearing before the regional court in Klagenfurt for the second time. She is accused of having infected her neighbor, who was suffering from cancer, with the coronavirus. As a result, the neighbor died of pneumonia. The presumption of innocence applies. Although the 54-year-old was sentenced to three months’ suspended imprisonment last year, part of the verdict was overturned by the Graz Higher Regional Court, which is why the trial must now be reopened. This is scheduled to take place next Thursday, September 12, 2024. The judge was Sabine Goetz ordered.
