On Wednesday morning, a 70-year-old was caught between a log splitter and a tractor. The man suffered fatal injuries.
At around 8 a.m., the 70-year-old wanted to connect a wood splitting machine to a tractor in an agricultural building in Straß in Styria (Leibnitz district) of his agricultural property.
The machine should have overturned and the upper body of the man was jammed between the log splitter and the tractor. A neighbor found the 70-year-old and informed the emergency services.
Resuscitation attempts carried out immediately by the first responders and the emergency team were unsuccessful. The emergency doctor could only determine the death of the 70-year-old.
