Negotiations for Agreement Between Extraleague Players and SHL Clubs: Updates from the Executive Committee of the SZĽH

“The priority for the Executive Committee of the SZĽH is an agreement between extraleague players and SHL clubs, which is the best way for the smoothness and progress of both leagues. “Both parties still need to finalize the details, including the schedule of competitions, so the executive committee has left direct promotion and relegation in effect for the time being, as it has already approved in the past. The extra league and SHL clubs have until the end of September to reach an agreement in the form of promotion and relegation from the 2024 season/ 25” explained Lažo.

At a recent meeting with extraleague clubs, the Slovak Ice Hockey Association agreed on the way our top competition will operate, which both parties declared by signing the contract on the future contract. In it, both parties committed themselves to the next steps, which should lead to the signing of the final contract between the union and the association grouping all twelve extra-league clubs.
