Neftohimik won the derby with Pomorie – 2024-04-28 20:30:52

Neftohimik defeated Pomorie 2-1 away in a match of the championship of AOG Burgas and increased its lead at the top of the standings. The Greens from Burgas won at the stadium in Pomorie after dominating throughout the match.

The hosts, who are second in the standings, had entered the field with ambitions to show that they could oppose the leader, but Burgasli deservedly reached the final success, which could have been more expressive.

The match passed with shared possession of the ball, but Pomorie’s attacks hardly reached Neftohimik’s penalty area. The quick attacks of the green ones brought a lot of trouble to the hosts. The first goal came after a ball was clumsily returned to the goalkeeper by a Pomorie defender.

Denis Tokmak reached the ball before the goalkeeper and scored for 0-1. A little later, a quick counterattack through the center brought Dimitrov alone against the Pomorie guard, but the goalkeeper was able to deflect the shot. The only dangers in front of Neftohimik’s goal came after static situations and crosses in the penalty area.

Thus, Pomorie managed to equalize in the second half. A scramble after a cross led to a goal for Pomorie. Neftokhimik reacted quickly and were close to a new goal on several occasions. The second goal for the hosts was a copy of the first.

Again, Tokmak was the first to reach a ball returned to the goalkeeper from the defense and from a small angle managed to score for 1-2. Pomorie finished the match with 10 men after foul play earned a second yellow card for the home team’s player.

After this victory, Neftohimik is now 7 points ahead at the top of the standings and two games behind the second-placed Pomorie. In the remaining 5 matches until the end of the championship, the Greens need only 2 points to be sure champions.
