Neftohimik’s volleyball players prevailed over CSKA v 3:1 (25:23, 23:25, 25:19, 25:23) in a 20th round match played at Mladost Hall.
For the boys of coach Atanas Petrov this is the 16th victory in the efbet Super Volley. After her, the vice-champions strengthened their positions at the top with 48 points (16 wins, 2 losses). CSKA is third with 41 points (14 wins, 6 losses), but before the remaining matches of the round are played, after which there will certainly be changes in the ranking.
The two teams played a spectacular match, and the derby lived up to the expectations of the fans.
“It was a battle and a good match. The boys broke up. We had our lows and highs. The important thing is that we prevailed in the key moments. We managed to stop CSKA’s diagonal Dimitar Dimitrov, but at the same time we made a lot of mistakes that affected the development. We have already played a lot of matches, I don’t think there was any tension. I think the boys are a bit tired and when they are not focused it leads to mistakes. This should be a lesson for us for the next matches,” commented Atanas Petrov.
“There are two more games until the end of the regular season. The rivals should not be underestimated. I hope we finish first because we have shown a decent game throughout the season,” added the coach of the runner-up.
The MVP of the match was Matej Mihajlovic, whose ace ended the match.
The most productive was the Slovenian, who scored 27 points (2 aces, 1 block). Axel Truhchev scored 17 points (2 aces, 1 block). Dusan Lopar scored 12 points (1 ace, 5 blocks).
Tonight, at 18:00, “Deya Sport” hosts “Dobrudzha”, and on March 25, “Neftokhimik” will visit them in a match of the next round.
