The ballad ‘Hald mich’ s vas’ by the Venlo band ‘Neet oét Lottum’ takes first place in the 25th edition of the L1mbo Top 100. That was announced on Thursday at the end of a ten-hour radio marathon.

‘Neet Oét Lottum’ thus dethrones’ Nao ‘t Zuuje’ by Lex Uiting. This number managed to conquer the highest place in the list for the past three years, but now has to settle for second place. Jack Vinders finished in third place.
Not the first time
It is not the first time that the ballad of songwriter and singer Frans Pollux has been number one in the list. In 2005 the song entered the first place in the L1mbo Top 100. At the time, the ‘Geneet van het Laeve’ by Sjef Diederen fell from the throne.
National fame
In the intervening years’ Hald mich ‘s vas’ was always in the Limburg hit list. The song also attracted attention nationally. Listings in the Top 2000 on NPO radio 2 and a background report on the song on national TV ensured that ‘Hald mich’ s vas’ gained national fame.
During the 3FM promotion Serious Request, ‘Hald mich’ s Vas’ turned out to be the most requested record of the 2020 edition. Frans Pollux played the song live in the studio in an adapted version with a string ensemble.
Really?
Frans Pollux was surprised in Venlo by Tom Doesborg who presented him with the ‘Geneet van het Laeve Award’. Pollux was surprised by his first position: “Really?” Pollux thinks his first position may have to do with the success during Serious Request. “I’ve had a lot of reactions to that, maybe it helped.” The Venloose singer immediately had a place for the award on his piano in the living room.
