Neemias Queta recorded the best personal points record in the North American Basketball League (NBA) this Saturday night, contributing 14 to the Boston Celtics’ victory over the Los Angeles Clippers (145-108). A few days after scoring 10 points against the Golden State Warriors, the Portuguese center set a new personal record in the NBA, having also achieved the second ‘double-double’ of his career in the 22.55 minutes he played against the Clippers. In his eighth game for the Celtics, in addition to 14 points (and three assists), with an efficiency of 57.1% in attempted field goals, he added 12 rebounds, being the player who stood out most in this chapter of the match, seconded by Ivica Zubac (10), from the Clippers.
On Wednesday, Queta had achieved his first ‘double-double’ in the NBA, against the Sacramento Kings, his former team.
Jayson Tatum (30 points) and Jaylen Brown (24 points) were the Boston franchise’s top scorers, followed by Jrue Holiday (20).
On the Los Angeles side, Paul George (21 points), Zubac (16) and Daniel Theis (15) were the main highlights.
The Boston Celtics lead the Eastern Conference, with 22 wins and six losses, while the LA Clippers are in sixth place in the West, with 17 wins and 12 losses.
Neemias Queta has played 28 games in the NBA, eight of which were for the Boston Celtics, who signed him this season, and 20 for the Sacramento Kings, 15 in 2021/22, in his debut season, and just five in 2022/23.
The 24-year-old Portuguese international center forward was selected by the Sacramento Kings in 39th position in the 2021 NBA draft, becoming the first Portuguese player to play in the competition.
In the last season, he was hired by the Boston Celtics, in a two-way contract, which means he will play for the main team, but also for the Maine Celtics, who compete in the G-League.
