Sewing is an act that requires slowness, care and precision. Pass the thread through the eye of the needle, stretch it, knot it, put a stitch in the fabric. The same happens with the wounds of the soul: the same prudence and a lot of attention are needed to suture them.
The secret ingredient, however, is the closeness of other people, who make the same journey together. This, too, is an art that can be learned with patience, putting fingers, thoughts and words together in an afternoon “feminine” workshop of the Officine Tantemani, a project of the San Vincenzo Social Cooperative. «It is a group of women – explains Francesca Moroni, educator and manager of this activity – with and without fragility. Some of them have faced difficult situations such as prison or periods of social withdrawal ».
