November has been an incredibly busy month already, but a few weeks ago we were quite pleasantly surprised with the news that a “new” Need for Speed game was coming. After Need for Speed Heat it is apparently time to return to the past. The “new” game is the remaster of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. And we have a fan in the editorial office who wanted to try this game out. Just sit back for a moment. Because this is a Let’s Play with JJ (that rhymes) from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
One of the better Need for Speed games
It has been 10 years since Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was released on platforms such as the PS3 and Xbox 360. 10 years later, JJ Hot Pursuit still thinks one of the better Need for Speed games. That’s how Hot Pursuit was really about racing. Where later editions mainly concerned pounding other cars to obtain Power Boosts, for example, you still had to really race here. And JJ was and is not exactly a huge fan of beech for Power Boosts. That’s why he’s happy that if a Need for Speed game needs to be remastered, it’s this part. You can hit it worse.
Go so fast that you fly out of the corner
In a game like Need for Speed it is of course all about speed. Lots of speed. For example, we see JJ take a stage where he has to finish within 1 minute and 22 seconds to bring in gold. While he’s doing this, can you see if the images can get through any more? And isn’t it all a bit empty on the road? For 2020, because that’s the problem. Remasters can be cool, but they still need to feel relevant in the current era. JJ is going to tell you if Need for speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is still for him.
