EA will release a remaster of 2010’s Need for Speed Hot Pursuit next month. The Xbox, PlayStation, and PC versions of the game will be released first. A version of the Switch will follow later. The game supports crossplay and contains all DLCs from the original.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will be released on November 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The version for the Nintendo Switch will follow a week later on November 13, is on the EA website. The game is being made by original developer Criterion in collaboration with Stellar Entertainment. Those studios were also responsible for the Burnout Paradise remaster. The remaster contains all of the DLC that came out before the original game. It’s alright according to EA at thirty challenges that provide at least six hours of extra gameplay.
Multiplayer mode becomes cross platform, allowing players to play against opponents or with friends on other consoles. The Autolog feature, which makes it possible to see scores of friends in certain challenges, can also be used via crossplay.
The graphically polished game runs on the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X in 4k at 30fps, or in 1080p at 60fps. The regular PS4 and Xbox One run the game in 1080p at 30fps. This also applies to the Nintendo Switch in dock mode. In handheld mode, the game runs in 720p at 30fps. The PC version is available on Steam and via EA Origin for 30 euros. The console versions cost 40 euros.
