15:01 – More than a month after part of the NEC stadium collapsed, the club has released very hopeful news. According to general director Wilco van Schaik, NEC is currently looking at various options, but there is also the option of playing in a full Goffert immediately after the winter break.
Van Schaik updates the supporters through his own club channels. In it he indicates that the club assumes that due to the lockdown, there will no longer be played with the public at all this calendar year. “We will do everything we can to see if we can play at home against Heracles Almelo with the public on 15 January.”
“We have two months for that. We are doing everything we can to map out the different scenarios now. How can we make the stadium safer? We calculate everything every day to be able to receive you back in our stadium as soon as possible.” Due to the lockdown, NEC has to play the home game against Cambuur without an audience, but in theory it should be allowed to receive an audience again on December 12 against PSV. from the government.
