“Neato Robotics Shuts Down Operations Due to Low Sales: What It Means for iRobot and Amazon”

Neato Robotics has announced the termination of operations because “the company has not achieved its own economic goals.” Sales of Neato robotic vacuum cleaners are said to be too low to continue the company’s development.

At the same time, Neato has announced that the support program for already sold and manufactured vacuum cleaners will be continued for another 5 years – robot parts will be available and online services will not be closed either.

iRobot dominates the robotic vacuum cleaner market with a 46% market share (data from 2020), while Neato had just 3%. It just looks like Neato’s surrender could spell bad news for Amazon, which wants to take over iRobot, but competition watchdogs weren’t thrilled with Amazon’s idea even before Neato’s collapse.
