Nearly all corona deaths in the United States are among the non-vaccinated

It shows data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which the news agency AP has analyzed.

The death toll is now below 300 per day, and the data suggest that it could have been closer to zero if everyone had been vaccinated. The peak was reached in January with 3,400 deaths daily.

The figures also show that of the 853,000 hospitalized corona patients in the United States in May, less than 1,200 were fully vaccinated. This corresponds to about 0.1 per cent of admissions.

About 63 percent of all Americans over the age of twelve have received at least one dose of corona vaccine. 53 percent are fully vaccinated.

However, US authorities are struggling to convince skeptical Americans to take the vaccine. On Tuesday, the White House said it would not meet President Joe Biden’s target of 70 percent of adult Americans being vaccinated by July 4.
