Some 800 people have participated this Saturday afternoon in the demonstration “We have history, we have a future” convened in Barcelona in defense of the rights of the LGTBI collective by Pride 2020, according to figures from the Urban Guard.

The march has started in the Plaza Universitat at 7:00 p.m., with protesters wearing a mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and LGBTI flags and posters in defense of transsexual groups, among others.

Speaking to the press before the march, the convening collectives have called for unity in “all struggles, not just those that are LGTBI”, which also includes this year’s manifesto, with some 60 accessions.

To reflect this diversity, the concentration has been organized in six blocks -one for each color of the LGTBI flag-: Feminism and LGBTI; anti-racism; work and public services; living place; youth, and environmentalism.

“It is to understand the fight from the point of view that no group can be left behind, explained the SinVergüenza association spokesperson Alfredo Mendoza.

The LGBTI Crida spokeswoman, Daniela Lima Guerra, has decoupled this march from the Pride events: “There only profit private companies that have nothing to do with us. It is not a pride, it is a shame. They exploit our fight to earn money”.

The organizers of this event are Xarxa pel 28J 2020 BCN, Crida LGBTI, SinVergüenza and ATC Llibertat, and the concentration has ended in the Sant Jaume square in Barcelona with parliaments from the organizers, in addition to the Las Kellys platform, Tanquem els CIE, and USTEC · STEs, among others.
