Nearly 35,000 soldiers have already been mobilized to fight against the coronavirus in the United States. About 19,700 National Guard soldiers support local authorities in order to contain the spread of the virus while 15,000 soldiers are building field hospitals in the hardest hit areas under FEMA leadership, the Pentagon said on Friday.

The US Navy has also made available two hospital ships each comprising around a thousand sailors. Boats are to relieve hospitals in Los Angeles and New York. Nearly a thousand soldiers have also been contaminated by Sars-CoV-2 as well as 500 civilian personnel and family members, said the US Department of Defense.
