Nearly 18,000 contraband cigarettes seized by Dijon police

It was a phone call shortly after 8 p.m. that alerted police of the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) last Saturday. The interlocutor reported a traffic in cigarettes in the street. Arrived on site, rue des Péjoces in Dijon, the patrol discovered two cars with cartons of Marlboro brand cigarettes sticking out of the trunks. They arrested the three men present in the act.

According to the police, it is a 20-year-old man from Pluvet (Côte-d’Or), accompanied by an 18-year-old younger man, from the commune of Collonges-lès-Premières (Côte-d ‘Gold), both considered sellers. The third man aged 32, considered to be the buyer, is from Rigny (Haute-Saône). The youngest of the three was ultimately dismissed. In contrast, the other two men were placed in police custody and are summoned to the criminal court of Dijon to answer for their actions.

These are in all 90 cartridges that the agents discovered. The police also seized telephones and a sum amounting to more than 1,000 euros. Last week, Dijon customs officials seized nearly 210 kilos of drugs and medication on the A31.
