About 1,384,000 people watched the first regular broadcast of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s new program on Saturday evening, Matthijs Continues.
The program started with a special on New Year’s Eve with 1.1 million viewers. Shortly afterwards it was announced that Van Nieuwkerk had become infected with the corona virus. New episodes of the show were then delayed for several weeks.
On Saturday, André van Duin was a guest, who lost his husband Martin Elfrink to cancer last year. He himself has been secretly treated for colon cancer in recent months.
In the broadcast, a visibly emotional Van Duin spoke about his grieving process. He also thanked the people who have recently supported him by means of messages, mail and emails. He said it helped him a lot.
BankGiro Millionaires on RTL 4, just like Matthijs Continues aired around 9:30 pm, attracting nearly 1.6 million viewers.
The most watched program of the Saturday evening was Who is the mole? on NPO1 with over 3.2 million viewers, followed by the NOS News from 8 p.m. with 2.6 million viewers. The third place in the viewing rating list is for I do not know on RTL 4, where 1,624,000 people watched.
