The report, published jointly by the National Health Commission and the National Aging Action Committee, found that China had 267.36 million people aged 60 or older at the end of the year, or 18, 9% of the total population.
By the end of 2021, the country had about 200.56 million people aged 65 and over, of which more than 119.41 million had received health services in urban and rural neighborhoods, the report said.
At the end of last year, the country had 358,000 aged care institutions and facilities, providing about 8.16 million beds, the report added. end
