Frédéric Bort: return to politics? (© Metropolitan)
Winegrower renowned in the new town ofBetween-vineyards in the Lunellois, east of Montpellier and an unavoidable political figure – in particular he was the mentor of the late Georges Frêche, at the time of the presidency of the former Languedoc-Roussillon region and his term as mayor of Montpellier -, Frédéric Bort was summoned Wednesday by the gendarmes within the remit of the company of Lunel, where he was heard for a few hours on a procedure relating to a tax file, at the request of the Montpellier prosecutor’s office.
“No, no, nothing happened”
The information was confirmed this Thursday at Metropolitan by a source close to the investigation, indicating that it was a simple hearing. Asked, Frédéric Bort did not wish to expand, telling us laconically: “No, no, nothing happened, I was not placed in custody”.
Return to politics?
On the other hand, Frédéric Bort confirms the information circulating on social networks in recent days concerning a possible return to the political scene and not to the socialist family, but, at the National Rally, the RN: “I was approached by Louis Alliot and Jean-Paul Garraud, two officials of the RN in Occitanie to appear on a list in the departmental elections in Hérault, in June. I have given myself time to reflect to seriously study this proposal. I would decide after the weekend, sometime next week. If I am going to fight, it is because it will remind me of the great era of Georges Frêche’s campaigns, those of the people against the elites, in particular the strong opposition with Martine Aubry, of the South against Paris and the North. I think that we are still in this dynamic, even if the right / left divisions persist, while the times change ”. At the PS, we will surely follow the choice of Frédéric Bort with interest.
