A refusal of priority caused mainly material damage this Saturday morning in Cournonterral.
A traffic accident left four injured this Saturday morning, in the town of Cournonterral. According to the first observations, a refusal of priority would be at the origin of the collision between three vehicles.
Around 10:30 am this Saturday, a Renault Scenic would have entered the D114, at the level of the avenue de la Gare-du-Midi, but without seeing an Audi which arrived launched on this lane with heavy traffic. Despite emergency braking, the German vehicle could not avoid hitting the Scenic hard enough from the rear. Due to the violence of the shock, the Scenic rubbed the car driving in front of it on the side before finishing its race against a plane tree.
About fifteen firefighters on site
Nearly 15 firefighters from Cournonterral, Fabrègues and Pignan intervened on the scene to provide assistance to the victims, including the driver of the Scenic who was in absolute emergency when help arrived and three of the four passengers of the Audi in emergency relative.
In the end, the damage from the accident turned out to be essentially material. The four injured were taken to Montpellier for check-ups. The driver of the Audi has also tested positive for drugs.
