The summer period is approaching. For students, between two exam preparations, it is also the ideal time to apply for a summer job.
But, at Meaux, as in the rest of the department, the economic crisis greatly complicates the situation, especially asthis year there will be no forum bringing together the available job vacancies.
Half the number of offers, but more requests
However, in Meaux and around the agglomeration of the Pays de Meaux, companies will recruit young people to provide replacements this summer.
An impossible to solve equation prepares for the Pays de Meaux employment center with almost half the number of offers than in previous years, but many more young people looking for a job.
Tourism remains a sector that will hire
However, companies near Meaux will still recruit.
It seems almost impossible, yet amusement parks continue to recruit although they are closed for the moment. Parc Asterix and the Mer de Sable, located in the south of the Oise, looking for all trades, both for park management and attractions as in Asterix hotels.
The local Mission of the Pays de Meaux has in particular identified offers in the region’s campsites. These structures should take advantage of sunny days and benefit from a clientele looking for different accommodation places, closer to nature.
Conversely, the major job providers in the sector such as Disneyland or Villages Nature do not seem to need additional staff this year.
Crisis or not, the agricultural world will need labor to carry out work in market gardening and horticulture operations.
They recruit near you
Among the businesses in the area that are recruiting, the Maison deemploi cites in particular locomotives such as C&A, Leroy Merlin, Auchan, Domidom, APEF, Litipharma, VNF, Aventure Canoë, Chaussea, Babou, Marché Frais, Brico Cash, bakeries Ange, the logistics sector, personal services, mass distribution, administration …

The stores in the malls are struggling
Traditionally, the stores in the commercial areas around Meaux provide jobs. But not this year or very little. “They have no prospect for this summer and cannot position themselves” explains the local Mission of Meaux.
Lots of requests
The local Mission expects a massive influx of young people looking for summer employment. “We will have all the students who usually come, plus work-study students who have not found a business and find themselves on the job market. It will be very complicated ”.
