Sanofi wants to strengthen its vaccine production. For this, the French company wants to open a new production unit in its factory in Neuville-sur-Saône (Rhône).
For this, a public inquiry was opened according to Progress, concerning the building permit.
Interested residents can get information from the town hall and index their comments in a dedicated register, digital or on paper.
A world first
If construction is done, it will be a world first. Sanofi will indeed be able to produce several doses of vaccines at the same time, which is currently impossible.
This new investment would amount to 610 million euros. The building will also be used to produce batches of rabies vaccines. It will rise over three floors and will be 17,000 m².
It should emerge from the ground by 2025, and start production at best in 2026.
