Three gendarmes lost their lives on the night of Tuesday 22 to Wednesday 23 December 2020, during an intervention in Saint-Just (Puy-de-Dôme). A fourth is injured.
To pay homage to the brigadier Arno Mavel (21 years old), to lieutenant Cyrille Morel (45 years old) and adjutant Remi Dupuis (37 years old), “this morning a citizen came to garnish the wall of the barracks with roses”, announces the gendarmerie group of Eure-et-Loir, which is located at Lucé (Eure-et-Loir).
–And adds: “The gendarmerie of Eure-et-Loir addresses its support to their families and relatives”.
Other tributes
Fadela Benrabia, Prefect of Eure-et-Loir, also sent its sincere condolences and a “speedy recovery to the fourth injured soldier”.
The Prefect sends her condolences to the families of the gendarmes who died last night near Saint-Just in the exercise of their mission.

The firefighters of Eure-et-Loir also paid tribute to the three deceased.

On the side of political figures of Eure-et-Loir, Laure de La Raudière, member for Eure-et-Loir has since spoken Twitter : “Terrible news. We are all in mourning alongside the gendarmerie ”.
Guillaume Kasbarian, he also deputy of Eure-et-Loir brings his “unwavering support to the National Gendarmerie”.
The gendarmes protect us day and night at the risk of their lives. Thoughts for the families, relatives and comrades of the victims.
