Less than a month before Valentine’s Day, thewriter from Demouville, near Caen (Calvados), Brigite Piedfert is publishing a book with Éditions de l’Histoire which inaugurates a new collection entitled “The love story of…”.
The love story between Héloïse and Abélard
It is about, through a romantic relationship between two personalities who have marked history, to understand the call that made them throw themselves towards each other, to decipher the mechanisms of love and the fusion that united them. The first title of this collection is called “Le roman d’amore d’Héloïse et Abélard”.
These two real characters loved each other exactly nine centuries ago. “Their affair began in 1115, and their love story still speaks to us today,” explains Brigite Piedfert, who specifies that the tomb, where their remains were transferred for a hundred years to the Parisian cemetery of Père Lachaise, is always regularly flowered.
Madly in love with Abélard, Héloïse upset the codes of her time by claiming her right to carnal pleasure, and she surprised by the avowed ardor of her eroticism
Eighth novel by Brigite Piedfert
More than a banal affair of seduction between a master and his pupil, Héloïse never ceased through the letters found from their correspondence, to proclaim her sincere and disinterested love for Abélard, of whom she was the pupil, despite the separations and the cruel ordeals – even very cruel – that the two lovers went through.
“The love story of Heloise and Abelard” is the eighth published work by the Norman writer, a former teacher, passionate about the Middle Ages.
