Zelenskyy welcomes EU recommendation on candidate status
The EU Commission’s recommendation to grant Ukraine the status of an EU accession candidate was met with relief in Kyiv. President Zelenskyj wrote on Twitter that this was the first step towards membership. He also brings Ukraine closer to a win against Russia. Russian President Putin has made serious accusations against Western countries. In his speech at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Putin said the West still thinks in terms of the past century and treats other countries like colonies. Putin accused the United States of acting as if it had been sent to earth by God. The Russian President’s speech had to be postponed by more than an hour due to a hacker attack. AfD wants new nuclear power plants in Germany
The AfD wants new nuclear power plants to be built in Germany. The party congress in Riesa accepted a corresponding motion with a large majority. The agreement states that modern nuclear power is one of the most important building blocks in the energy mix of the future.
