The focus of the traditional 3.30 p.m. Bundesliga afternoon is the battle for places behind Bayern and Leipzig and thus for the starting places for the Champions League. It could be the game day of VfL Wolfsburg. The third place in the table has home rights against 1. FC Köln, while the two pursuers Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt take the points. Moderator Uwe Bahn speaks on this subject with VfL sports director Marcel Schäfer before kick-off. Also in the afternoon: The debut of the new Leverkusen coach Hannes Wolf – against Schalke 04.
The second division – and the Sunday games
Even before the Bundesliga kick-off, we will be reporting live from the second division, including the top match between Bochum and Holstein Kiel. And on Sunday there will also be a six-hour NDR 2 Bundesliga show with Uwe Bahn. The focus: Werder Bremen’s guest performance in Stuttgart. Werder has slipped closer to the relegation places in the past week. Point (e) at VfB could be extremely important. Kick-off in Stuttgart is at 3:30 p.m. Before that, we’re at three other exciting games: the northern derby of the 2nd division between Hannover 96 and Hamburger SV, the top match of the 3rd division between Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock and the women’s DFB Cup semi-final between VfL Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.
It continues like this on Monday
The football Easter festival on NDR 2 is rounded off by a Bundesliga show on Monday evening with the second division game FC St. Pauli against Eintracht Braunschweig live from Hamburg’s Millerntor.
