NCL launched the Viva ship in a grand celebration

Norwegian Cruise Line launched the ship Norwegian Vivawhich is the newest of the company and the second ship in the class Prima Award winner.

The ship Norwegian Viva is 92 meters long and can accommodate 3,099 guests. It has unique and exciting activities, including the three-story Viva Speedway race track; Elevated offerings such as Indulge Food Hall, an open-air food market featuring 11 themed restaurants; and an inspiring art collection with standout works, including British digital artist Dominic Harris’ 52-metre wide interactive artwork titled Every Wing Has a Silver Lining installed in the Metropolitan Bar.

The launch ceremony and the breaking of a bottle of champagne on the side of the ship was held at the company’s LEED® Gold Certified terminal in the Port of Miami with the participation of more than 1,500 cash. Premium Class is committed to breaking new ground in ship design and amenities, and reflects Norwegian Cruise Line’s uncompromising dedication to putting the guest and boarding experience at the forefront.

NCL Holdings President Harry Sommer said at the launch: “As a company, this has been a milestone year with the debut of next-generation ships across all three of our best-in-class cruise brands, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The addition of Norwegian Viva further enhances our world-class fleet, providing valued guests with another amazing way to vacation, discover new experiences and create unforgettable memories. Since her launch in August, Norwegian Viva’s initial satisfaction scores have exceeded any new ship in NCL’s fleet history, a testament to Not only for how amazing this ship is, but also for the level of service and exceptional attention provided by our amazing crew on board.”

After her maiden voyage and select sailings from Miami, the ship will be repositioned in San Juan, Puerto Rico and will be the newest ship to homeport in the destination when she arrives on December 15, 2023.

Through March 2024, Norwegian Viva will offer port-heavy seven-day Caribbean cruises where guests will wake up daily to a new tropical island paradise upon arrivals in Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. John’s, Antigua; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, Saint Lucia; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and St. Thomas, the landlocked US Virgin Islands. In April 2024, Norwegian Viva will return to sailing itineraries in the Mediterranean Sea and the Greek Islands that offer an unparalleled opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Europe.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the entire NCL team, our partners and especially our amazing crew who have contributed to making life aboard Norwegian Viva more comfortable and who take care of our guests and provide them with exceptional vacation experiences.” The celebration continues throughout the evening with an unparalleled entertainment lineup led by Ponsi performing his award-winning and world-leading hit “Despacito,” alongside his other beloved Latin hits such as “No Me Doy Por Vencido” and “Échame La Culpa.” Other talented actors with authentic Miami and Latino roots take the stage, including Saturday Night Live cast member and Miami native Marcelo Hernandez; the queen of Latin pop, Paulina Rubio; and recently announced Grammy® Award-nominated artist Pedro Capo.
