Aloha! It seems like the US network CBS missed a little sunshine and beaches, because soon a new series will be heading back to Hawaii. With the official order of the spin-off NCIS: Hawaii, the NCIS franchise is expanding again, or after the coming exit of NCIS: New Orleans, it will remain at its old strength. It will also be the first series of the NCIS family in which one of the main female roles can also play the team leader at the same time.
NCIS: Hawaii is set, as the title suggests, in the paradisiacal US state and follows the woman who is the first female special agent to take over the management of NCIS: Pearl Harbor together with her team. While she and her team members try to fulfill their duties towards their country and family at the same time, they investigate highly explosive cases that affect military personnel and national security and also investigate the island’s secrets.
Christopher Silber and Jan Nash, who have already worked for “NCIS: New Orleans“Were responsible. They are supported by screenwriter and producer Matt Bosack (SEAL team). Together they have already put out feelers for potential actors and actresses for the leading roles. The opening episode will be produced by Larry Teng, who will also be sitting in the director’s chair at the same time. He also shot five episodes of NCIS: LA.
This isn’t the only news for NCIS fans, as CBS announced that NCIS: Los Angeles will also continue into season 13 after the extension of the parent series NCIS.
CBS Studios can for “NCIS: Hawaii“Make use of the Hawaii Five-0 production cities that have already been developed on the islands and which Magnum PI is already benefiting from. This of course also offers great potential for crossovers, which has been used several times between the CBS series in the past.
