NC reveals split vote in presidential election

Raleigh.- The state’s registered voters are clearly divided ahead of the presidential election.

This is according to a new SurveyUSA poll, conducted by High Point University and the results of which were released on August 22.

The survey shows that 46% of registered voters in North Carolina support Democrat Kamala Harris.

While 45% support former president and Republican candidate Donald Trump.

While 8% said they were still undecided and the remaining 1% said they would vote for another candidate.

Regionally, Trump leads by 18 points in western North Carolina in the presidential election and has a 2-point advantage in the state’s south and coast, according to the poll.

While Harris wins by 5 points in the Raleigh area and by 4 in Greensboro.

In Charlotte, however, voters are evenly split.

Harris leads among confident voters

Among voters who say they are sure which candidate they will vote for in the November election, Harris leads by 2 percentage points with 48% of the vote, compared to 46% for Trump.

However, among those who say they are likely to vote in the next presidential election, Trump leads by 10 percentage points at 50%.

According to the poll results, if you combine certain and likely voters — as SurveyUSA traditionally defines “likely voters” — the race is tied.

This is because Harris receives 47% just like Trump.

They prefer women to Harris

Focusing on already registered voters, Harris leads among women with a preference higher by 3 percentage points, according to the survey.

While Trump leads by 3 points among men.

Additionally, while Trump leads by 19 points among white voters, Harris leads by 65 points among black voters.

Harris is supported by black women by a 73 percentage point margin, and by black men by a 55 point margin.
