NBC Sports Boston took over NBA’s Twitter on Saturday night as the Lakers swept Russell Westbrook after the Celtics won the comeback of LeBron James 130-108 from injury.
During an interview with former Lakers security guard Dennis Schroeder, NBC Sports Boston decided to get creative with the TV. Instead of adding the usual game statistics or anecdotes to the interview, the show stole the show by shooting Celtics’ ancient enemies.
“You’re paying Ross $ 44 million lol,” read the caption.
Against his former team, Schröder had a night with 21 points, six rebounds and six assists despite an injury doubt in the game. Meanwhile, Westbrook, who made a successful move to the Lakers in July, finished 12 points, six assists and four rebounds.
While the Lakers will need $ 44 million this season and $ 47 million next season before Westbrook’s contract expires, Schroeder has also been ridiculed for his contract.
The notorious Germany international joined the Celtics on a $ 5.9 million one-year deal this summer after refusing to renew a four-year $ 84 million deal with the Lakers.
The Celtics will head to Los Angeles on December 7th to take on the Lakers, which means both sides will have plenty of time to think about their next steps.
