This summer, the Brooklyn Nets could well experience significant departures. After losing James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers during the season, the New York franchise could see Kevin Durant packing his bags as well. But that’s not all, since Kyrie Irving could also pack up this summer and he could well find a certain LeBron James in his new team.
In recent years, the Brooklyn Nets had mad ambition NBA. The franchise of New-York wanted to win the first title in its history in the American League and it did not skimp on the means to try to achieve it. In 2019, the Brooklyn Nets struck a blow by recruiting Kevin Durant et Kyrie Irvingtwo of the best players in NBA currently. Some time later, the team coached by Steve Nash secured the services of another star in the person of James Harden. With this trio, Brooklyn Nets were placed as big favorites for the title NBA. But despite this huge recruitment, the franchise of New-York never made it to even the conference finals. And things are obviously not going to work out. Last February, James Harden flew to the side of Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons and of Seth Curry. And the departures should not stop there. Lately, a crazy rumor has emerged: that of a trade for Kevin Durant. Number 7 of Brooklyn Nets would have demanded his transfer to believe The Athletic. And the 33-year-old winger could see Kyrie Irving following him out the door as well.
Framework of a potential LA/Nets trade for Kyrie:“Irving and a 2nd Nets player (Seth Curry, the newly acquired Royce O’Neale or Day’Ron Sharpe) in exchange for Westbrook and the Lakers’ 2027 and 2029 1st-round selections.”(via @sam_amick/@jovanbuha, https://t.co/LsNArSYuhp) pic.twitter.com/1nr1jkXJe0

Irving and another Nets player to Lakers in exchange for Westbrook and some draft rounds
Indeed, the playmaker could also be the subject of a trade this summer. Uncle Drew should be the next player to go after Kevin Durant. And the Los Angeles Lakers would already be on the way. The franchise of LeBron James would always seek to strengthen its lead and Kyrie Irving would be seen as an option of choice. According to The Athleticthem Los Angeles Lakers would be willing to sacrifice Russell Westbrook to bring in the 30-year-old, provided the offer is attractive. The franchise of California could also be led to give up a few rounds of Draft to the Brooklyn Nets. This would be the only possible solution for the Los Angeles Lakers can get their hands on Kyrie Irving. If not, the team LeBron James will certainly have to wait another year, the time that the number 11 of the Nets be free.
A complicated but not impossible trade
A trade including Kyrie Irving and another player like Seth Curry versus Russell Westbrook and the first rounds of the 2027 and 2029 Draft would be possible and announces the color on what the Los Angeles Lakers have to sacrifice to sign the 30-year-old playmaker. However, the affair would remain unlikely for the moment in view of the risk taken by the management of the team of California. Indeed, the Lakers would ruin their future in the very long term by accepting such a deal. However, the exchange would not be impossible if Kyrie Irving is considered the missing piece of Darvin Ham.
