NBA Cannot leave out big players in important games
Coaches in the NBA have often looked to rest their key players when possible, but those days might be in the past now.
This season, the league have decided to update their rules regarding fit and healthy players ahead of 2020/21.
As reported by Yahoo Sports, teams can now face fines of up to 100,000 dollars – around 83,000 euros – for resting healthy players in nationally televised or high profile games.
Barring unusual circumstances, teams will not be able to rest multiple healthy players in the same game, and they should not rest them when playing away from home.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers brought the issue to light last season when it was claimed that the pair even had the luxury of choosing the games they wanted to play in.
