PHILADELPHIA SIXERS 87 – BOSTON CELTICS 135
Horror in Philly. James Harden appeared before his new fans, in street clothes and not yet to play, and the result could not be more catastrophic. The Celtics beat the Sixers, winning by 48 points difference. No one was saved in the Rivers box, not even Embiid who had to make 13 free throws to reach 19 points scored. Brown (29) and Tatum (28) were the standouts. The only penalty for the Greens was the injury of Marcus Smart, who hurt his right ankle during the second quarter. Those of Udoka add up to nine in a row.
MILWAUKEE BUCKS 128 – INDIANA PACERS 119
Antetokounmpo (50) had a spectacular performance, the fourth best for a game of 50 points since he only used 21 field goals to carry it out. The Bucks, knowing they will have Bembry’s help soon and with Ibaka on track, snapped a two-game losing streak.
PHOENIX SUNS 103 – LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 96
Another open streak in Phoenix. Six in a row for the Suns, with various resources but always with Booker (26) and Paul (17) as references. The bad day of Jackson and Mann as outsiders for the Clippers had an impact on the final result, supported by a good defense of the runners-up on these two opponents.
ATLANTA HAWKS 124 – CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 116
Young (41) led the Hawks against one of the teams that has surprised an Eastern Conference that they thought they had controlled. It’s the first time since the turn of the year that the Cavaliers have lost three games in a row. Gallinari (25 points) also opened the gap for Georgia.
MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 126 – CHARLOTTE HORNETS 120
Towns (39) was the best for the Wolves in their overtime victory against the Hornets coached by James Borrego. Russell missed the final shot of regulation time and the Dominican center dominated extra time to tie up the game. Bridges (28 points) was the leading scorer for Charlotte.
NEW ORLEANS PELICANS 109 – MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 121
Sixth also for the Grizzlies, who have over forty wins at this point in the season. The Spanish duel was left only to Willy, who left a 5/5 in shots against an Aldama who could not even step on the parquet. The first quarter was the starting signal for a fairly placid match for Jenkins’ men. Sin Morant dominated Jones, author of 27 points.
MIAMI HEAT 99 – DALLAS MAVERICKS 107
The Dallas team won in Miami and its members stressed that, after the two changes made in the transfer market, they want games like this. Read the chronicle.
