NBA Star Miles Bridges Surrenders to Authorities on Domestic Violence Charges

NBA Charlotte Hornets star Miles Bridges surrendered to authorities on Friday after a new arrest warrant was issued for him on domestic violence charges, local police reported.

The 25-year-old American forward was released after spending about three hours in a detention center in Lincoln County (North Carolina), according to a statement from local police.

The charges against Bridges include violating a protective order that was issued to him in the conviction he received last year for domestic violence.

In June 2022, the player attacked his ex-partner in front of their two children in Los Angeles. Without admitting his guilt, Bridges then accepted a sentence of three years of probation that also prevented him from playing the entire last NBA season.

Despite the protection order, the player allegedly had an argument with his ex-partner on October 6 and threw pool balls at the woman’s car with the children inside, according to a report from the ESPN network.

The possible consequences of this new incident for Bridges’ career are still unknown.

Following his conviction for domestic violence, the NBA suspended him for 30 games, of which he still had to complete 10 at the start of this season, which starts on October 24.

Bridges, who was the Hornets’ top scorer in the 2021-2022 season (20.2 points average), was considered one of the great pillars of the franchise’s future along with the talented point guard LaMelo Ball.
