The NBA regular season is suspended!
The decision was made after the discovery of a case of coronavirus in a Jazz player, who is Rudy Gobert according to ESPN and The Athletic.
Events quickly followed in the NBA on Wednesday evening, minutes after Donald Trump banned flights from Europe for 30 days. The game between Utah Jazz was first canceled a few minutes before kick-off, without the NBA immediately specifying the reason.
“The NBA is suspending the rest of the scheduled games until further notice,” said the North American league, whose regular season was scheduled to continue until April 15, before the playoffs, minutes later. “A Utah Jazz player has previously tested positive for the Covid-19,” she said.
The NBA, which did not cancel the other matches scheduled for Wednesday, said that “the player affected was not in the room”. According to various American media, the player in question is Rudy Gobert, and the Jazz and Thunder players were placed in quarantine in the hall of Oklahoma City.
