NBA A controversial decision in the US
The decision taken by the Dallas Mavericks to not play the American national anthem during their last 13 games has owner and billionaire Mark Cuban at the centre of a storm.
Cuban has already been asked to sell the franchise, even though he has reversed his decision and the anthem did play during their most recent game.
Cuban made the decision after conversations with members of the community who didn’t agree with it being played before every game.
A number of Republican politicians are now calling for Cuban to sell the Mavs, claiming that he has shown a lack of respect.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement that “all teams will play the national anthem”.
Silver also added that protests in support of Black Lives Matter would not be repeated this season.
