It was the most anticipated series of this first round, it did not disappoint expectations – quite the contrary. Race-1 between Boston and Brooklyn becomes what America calls an instant-classic and not just for theJayson Tatum’s hoop on the siren who decides it. Kyrie Irving is for long stretches unstoppable and closes a superb performance (from ex certainly not loved by the Boston public, which provokes him for a long time) with 39 points and 12/20 from the field (and 6/10 of three). For the Nets 23 points also adds Kevin Durant, but Boston responds as a real team: extraordinary Marcus Smart (20 points with 4 triples, 7 rebounds and 6 assists), touching the rebounding commitment of a veteran as Al Horford (15 balls recovered under the scoreboards, of which 6 in attack) in addition to the usual ones Jaylen Brown e Jayson Tatum, the two superstars of the team. The first closes with 23 points and the second with 31, but none of these 31 as important as the last two: a masterpiece about the mermaid that will remain forever in the history of these NBA 2022 playoffs.
