When does the 2022 NBA playoffs start?

The full schedule for the playoffs has not yet been published by the NBA, but it is already clear that the new champion should be determined by Tuesday, June 19 at the latest. That day would be the deciding game in a seven-game final series.

If all remaining teams have qualified in the play-in tournament and the open playoff places have been filled, the playoffs continue according to US tradition with round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals (conference finals) and finally the final.

Two title favorites are already meeting in a direct duel in the conference semi-finals in the East: The reigning champion from Milwaukee was able to prevail against the Chicago Bulls in the first round and is now up against the Boston Celtics. They managed a four-win-undefeat “sweep” against the Brooklyn Nets in the first playoff series.
The Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers are in the second semifinals of the Eastern Conference. While the title contender from Miami was clearly superior to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs, the 76ers around the superstars Joel Embiid and James Harden at the Toronto Raptors needed six games to win the series.
