Phoenix Suns’ Monty Williams has been named NBA Coach of the Year.
The 50-year-old ex-professional led his team to a record of 64 wins and 18 defeats in the regular season and has now received the award for the first time, as the NBA announced late Monday evening (local time).
Behind Williams, who clearly won with 458 points, were Taylor Jenkins of the Memphis Grizzlies (270) and Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat (72). The Suns are currently playing as the main round winners in the second round of the playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks. After four games it is 2:2.
