The game: Clippers overthrow Hawks, Luke Kennard decisive
Tyronn Lue didn’t like what he saw in the first half at all. And he was up against his usual holders. So he put them all on the bench after the locker room. Even his superstars. Yes, even Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. A bold decision that paid off since the Clippers beat the Hawks (119-110) after being 22 points behind! Too soft, the five major from Los Angeles had taken the water in the second quarter time (18-34) and the gap was therefore 15 points at the break.
It was then that Lue launched a more mobile group with five replacements. Among them, Luke Kennard and Terrance Mann. These two players made the difference for the Clippers. Unleashed, Kennard converted all his attempts – 8, including 4 three-pointers – to get his team back on track. Mann finished with 21 points. They gave a boost to their teammates. Their energy was infectious and contagious. If George finished with 8 points, Leonard redeemed himself on his return to the floor. He surfed on the performances of his two teammates to do violence to himself. He also finished with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The Clippers ended the game on a 50-20 to end the Hawks’ 8-game winning streak.

The end of the series: the Rockets finally come out of their downward spiral
A series that stops, another that continues. The Rockets ended 20 straight losses by handing the Raptors their ninth straight loss. A liberating victory (117-89) for the Texans led by a John Wall in triple-double (19 pts, 11 rebounds, 10 pts) but also Jae’Sean Tate (22 pts) and Christian Wood (19 pts). Houston had to fall on Toronto, a sinking team, to end the ninth worst series of all time in the NBA. On the other hand, this is clearly not encouraging for the franchise of Canada, which sinks even more.
The performance: Even without Giannis, the Bucks are formidable
Deprived of their double-MVP, slightly hit in the knee, the Bucks rolled over the Pacers to win quite easily, 140 to 113. A demonstration that reminds us that this Milwaukee formation does not just rely on one of the best players of the world. It also has a powerful and increasingly established collective. Mike Budenholzer’s men brought the ball to life in attack to constantly find the shot cleared. By also demonstrating, it is true, an insolent skill: 56% success on shots and 61% at three-pointers with 24 prize-winning baskets registered.
Everyone contributed to the party and 6 players exceeded 10 units. Including 28 for Jrue Holiday, 25 for Khris Middleton and 20 for Pat Connaughton. This result is very interesting from the perspective of the playoffs, where the Bucks will also have to create danger when Antetokounmpo is resting. Be careful, this team is stronger than last year.
The player: Ja Morant leads the Grizzlies pack against the Celtics
The Grizzlies beat the Celtics (132-126) after extra time last night and they can thank their young star Ja Morant, author of 29 points and 9 assists. The leader notably registered the last three throws in the fourth quarter time to ensure an additional period. Dillon Brooks (24 pts) then made the difference. Boston returns to the negative with this defeat and now has a record of 21 wins and 22 losses.
The French: Dominating Rudy Gobert
21 points and 10 rebounds. A noble statistic line, worthy of an All-Star, for Rudy Gobert. But that’s not all. 21 points at 9 out of 11 on shots with… 9 blocks! A monstrous performance of the French pivot who went to one against a memorable triple-double. In its wake, Utah beat Chicago. Much less success for Nicolas Batum, who did not score during the loss of the Clippers against the Hawks. Despite the awkwardness (3 of 12 on shots), Theo Maledon made a rather complete performance by ensuring 9 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in the Thunder’s victory against the Timberwolves.
