Indiana Pacers guard Caris LeVert, signed in the four-team NBA deal that sent James Harden from Houston to Brooklyn this week, will be out of action indefinitely after detecting a small mass in his left kidney.
The discovery was made on an MRI exam as part of a physical exam before the trade between Houston, Brooklyn and Cleveland was completed, the Pacers said Saturday.
“LeVert will undergo further medical tests and more details will be released as necessary,” the Pacers said in a statement.
LeVert has averaged 18.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game so far in his fifth NBA season, all with the Nets, who got him in a trade two weeks after the Pacers picked him up as the 20th pick in the draft. NBA 2016.
