A few days after the trade with the LA Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies shipped Patrick Beverley directly. The point guard moves to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who in return send Jarrett Culver and Juan Hernangomez to Memphis.

It was only on Sunday that Memphis had arranged a deal with the Clippers, which had shipped Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu to the Mississippi in exchange for Eric Bledsoe. Wolves President Gersson Rosas already knows the Guard from days together at the Houston Rockets. According to Woj, he appreciates the toughness and leadership qualities that Beverley brings with him. With these qualities he should apparently lead the young squad around D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Beverley has spent the past four seasons with the Clippers. Last season he put on an average of 7.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists, while he hit 42.3 percent of his field throw attempts and 39.7 percent from downtown. After the offseaon trade for Ricky Rubio, Minnesota had lost some depth in the guard positions, which they are now getting back.
In Hernangomez, the Wolves lose a talented Big Man who produced an average of 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 2020/21. However, there should have been tension between him and the Wolves recently after the medical department banned the 25-year-old from participating in the Olympic Games for Spain due to shoulder problems.
NBA: Jarrett Culver has another chance in Memphis
Culver (22) came to the Timberwolves as the 6th pick in the 2019 draft, but was never able to prevail in the far north of the USA. In his first two years with the Association, he put up 7.8 points and 3.3 rebounds at 40.6 percent from the field and 28.8 percent from a distance.
In his contract (6.4 million dollars) a team option for 2022/23 is anchored, the contract of Hernangomez (6.2 million) is no longer guaranteed after the coming season. Beverley is under contract for another year and $ 14.3 million.
