The NBA canceled the next two games in the franchise after the corona outbreak at the Chicago Bulls, which affects a total of 10 players. The team should be given time to contain the further spread of the virus.
The two games mentioned are the duel against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night and the game against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night. The exact dates for the rescheduling have not yet been determined.
Forward Alize Johnson tested positive for Corona on Monday, which means that the Bulls currently only have eight healthy players left. Association rules state that a team must have at least eight players to play a game.
Johnson is the next name on the long list of Bulls players on health and safety log. That list also consists of: Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Troy Brown Jr., Coby White, Javonte Green, Matt Thomas, Derrick Jones Jr., Ayo Dosunmu, and Stanley Johnson.
The Windy City franchise had been trying for days to reschedule the games. In consultation with the Health Department of the City of Chicago, the application has now been granted.
As soon as players are in the league’s protocol, they must be quarantined for ten days until they can show two negative PCR tests within a period of 24 hours.
